This is the standard bike coupling supplied with trailers for the UK and is available separately as a spare part. It can be left in situ on the bike without affecting the release of the back wheel.

Ideal if you want to share the towing between two people as the trailer can be switched between bikes in seconds, or for if you have two bikes you may want to tow with.
